Summary:
Complete interior retrofit and renovation of a historic hotel building consisting of 5 floors and 30,000 sf in area. The project received the 2009 Southwest Contractor Best of Renovation and Restoration Award. The main scope of work included:
- Added new Exterior Facade Eyebrow Structures
- Expanded Lobby & Fitness Center area by adding new openings in existing load bearing masonry shearwalls
- Enlarged existing door openings in masonry shearwalls to meet current ADA requirements
- Created 3-D ETABS model for the entire building and performed seismic and wind load analysis based on the current building code to verify structural integrity and satisfy the City of Las Vegas Building Department requirements
- Provided analysis of existing support elements for upgraded mechanical systems
- Provided the general contractor with on-site structural observation and support services to resolve construction issues
